"For the world of science and evolution is far more nameless and elusive and like a dream than the world of poetry or religion; since in the latter, images and ideas remain themselves eternally, while it is the whole idea of evolution that identities melt into each other as they do in a nightmare."
~G. K. Chesterton from The Ball and the Cross

I like this. I've read some of Chesterton's stuff, including one fictional piece, The Man Who Was Thursday. Didn't you say you read this, Caroline?
Anyways, I agree with this. I love anything dealing with the definition of identity. It's fascinating stuff. I've never seen it put like this, in relation to science/evolution.
Well said!
I read some of it, short attention span and quotes like this one get me stuck and I mull them over and over. It's called over-focused ADD and it's real.

“‘The Doer’ is merely a fiction added to the deed – the deed is everything.”
Nietzche said that. It just reminded me of what we talked about, whether we do becuase of what we are or we are because of what we do.
