News

I've just been catching up on all the news articles I've missed while away. Some stories are a lot like the soap operas I used to watch when in high school. I got out of classes at lunchtime my senior year and would sometimes go home to eat before reporting for work at Brigade Quartermasters. I was hired initially to load their database of customers onto their smokin' hot new programmer created software, they were breaking ground in 1979 with software and hardware.

Back to the soaps. I would tune in and pick up the story, sometimes after a break of a week or so. I found that I wouldn't miss a lot. The plots moved at a snails pace with one single conversation between 2 characters sometimes lasting for days.

Mother and I were just talking about this yesterday at the hospital where my Dad is incarcerated for going on 5 weeks now. He is straight fibbing (atrial fibrillation) and the cardiologists hesitate to perform the cardoioversion that might regulate his heart rate because of some clots that have formed in the left atrium caused by the irregular heart rate. Talk about a circular plot. He's about to tear that place down so tired is he of hospitals and procedures.

So, like I started to say, I'm catching up on all the news. I vaguely remembered a scripture taught to me by Muriel Cash that perfectly summed up my feelings about my observations in the news. I couldn't find it for the life of me, I got out the Strong's, went to BibleGateway, couldn't remember the right words. When I woke up this morning it came to me, that old advice to "sleep on it" really works.

"The wicked freely strut about
when what is vile is honored among men."
Psalm 12:8

Well put King David. Well put.
